New Eyes High School Chapter Program

Start a chapter. Help someone see.

Since 1932, New Eyes has provided new prescription eyeglasses to people who can't afford them. Now high school students across the country are joining in — one chapter, one fundraiser, one pair of glasses at a time.

Found a chapter See the goals

New Eyes changes lives one pair of glasses at a time through clear vision. Every chapter goal on this page is measured in people assisted with the simple, yet critical tool of eyeglasses, bringing joy, hope, and opportunity to those in need across the United States.

How it works

What a New Eyes chapter actually does

A chapter is a small group of students at one high school who raise money and awareness for New Eyes during the school year. You set the pace. We give you everything you need to run it.

Raise funds

Bake sales, car washes, jewelry collections, restaurant nights,5K runs, online drives — whatever works at your school. Every dollar goes toward eyeglasses.

Spread the word

Present to clubs, homerooms and assemblies using our ready-made slide deck. Millions of Americans go without glasses simply because they cost too much. Most people don't know that.

Track your impact

Log every event in your chapter's event tracker and watch your total climb toward Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Get recognized

Chapters that hit a goal are named on this page, and founders can request a letter confirming their service hours and leadership role.

Chapter goals

Bronze, Silver and Gold

Reach a goal any time during the school year and your chapter is added to the Honor Roll below. There's no deadline to hit a tier — and no penalty for aiming high and landing at Bronze.

25People

Bronze

$625 raised

A realistic first-year goal. One well-run bake sale and a dress-down day will usually get you there.

50People

Silver

$1,250 raised

A full classroom of kids and then some. Chapters usually reach Silver by running two or three events across a semester.

100People

Gold

$2,500 raised

One hundred people who couldn't see clearly, but can now. Gold chapters can pair a school-wide event with local business sponsors.

Every $25 raised covers one pair of prescription glasses for an adult and two pairs for each child, no matter how complicated the prescription, including durable, high quality frames, polycarbonate, shatter-proof lenses and shipping to the recipient.
